Users might get stuck at segmenting the list to send the Press Releases to those who have opted for it and are customers too. They don’t want to send Press Releases to all their prospects/customers. This usually happens because HubSpot does not offer a separate email page for marketing emails and Press Releases. The email dashboard is common for all types of emails, but the real difference is in the custom properties of the contacts and segmentation.
Custom properties of Contacts work like labels or tags. Create and maintain a ‘Contact Type’ property and mention whether the contact is a prospect/customer or only a Press Release Subscriber. This way, you can select only Press Release Subscribers list to send Press Releases. Remember that the list can also contain your prospects/customers who have opted for your Press Releases, but this list will not contain the contact who have not subscribed to your Press Release.
Object type: An object is something that stores the property. The standard objects in HubSpot CRM are contacts, companies, deals, and tickets. So, in this case, you are creating a property for Contacts.
Group: A property group combines similar properties within an object. Select the group with the same properties to add your new property.
Label/Name: It is a unique name for the property. This name appears in your HubSpot CRM, including on index pages and records. For example, ‘Company name’ is a property label.
Internal name: The internal name is used for APIs and integrations. For example, the internal name for the ‘Company name’ property is ‘name’.
Description: It is the text that describes the property. You can skip this one, but we recommend you write it for other users to know what the property is about.
There are one or two property types to choose from: Either a ‘dropdown select’ or various ‘checkboxes.’ ‘Dropdown select’ will allow you to apply one group for each contact at any time. Numerous ‘checkboxes’ permit you to apply various groups to each contact.
